Tidewater Mfg, LLC (Tidewater) seeks to maximize our customer’s privacy while delivering the services they expect.  Tidewater’s approach to privacy protection is to collect as little information as possible from our customers, retain only what is necessary to provide good service, protect the minimal data we do collect, and never share customer data with any other party except as required to deliver our services and as required by law.

Tidewater does not employ any form of in-app advertising, in-app purchases, customer data marketing, or Tidewater product marketing using data collected from customers.  Our privacy policy is designed to deliver an enjoyable and worry-free exploration experience to our valued customers.

1.    Data Collection – What do we record about you?

Tidewater collects customer data related to the purchase and installation of the software itself and customer use of data services from our website.

This information may include, for example:

·          Your email address

·          The date of purchase, purchase price, discounts used, etc.

·          The version originally purchased

·          The latest version installed

·          A unique identifier of the licensed device

·          Number of data downloads requested

Other transactional information not listed in the example may be collected.  No other customer information is collected by Tidewater.  Financial data associated with product purchase is handled by Apple Inc. for MacOS software and FastSpring.com for Windows software.  Tidewater does not collect, retain or use any customer financial information.

Tidewater neither seeks nor collects information on our customers from any third-party providers except as required to complete and validate purchase transactions through our transactions providers (Apple Inc. and FastSpring.com).

2.    Data Use Policy – What do we do with your information?

Tidewater uses purchase information exclusively to determine the customer’s right to access services now and in the future.  Services access data, such as the downloading of new satellite data, is used only to ensure reliable future access to services and to help defend against certain kinds of potential cyber-attacks on our service deliveries.

Tidewater may use customer email address information to communicate with customers in the future, such as to inform them of updated software version releases to which they are entitled.  At the time of this update, we do not communicate directly with customers except in response to their inquiries.

3.    Data Storage Policy – How do we store your information?

Tidewater stores customer information in an anonymized form whenever possible.  Anonymized data can be used to determine legitimate access to services, but cannot be decoded, by Tidewater or any other party, to discover the original data.  Some data, such as customer email address if collected, may be stored in a non-anonymized fashion in order to allow its use for communication with you.

Tidewater does not collect, retain or use any customer financial information.

4.    Third Party Data Use – Who do we share your information with?

Tidewater does not disclose customer information to any third party except to complete purchase transactions initiated by the customer and as otherwise required by law.  For MacOS software, this means exchanging data with Apple, Inc.  For Windows software, this means exchanging data with FastSpring.com.  These companies handle all financial transaction data.  Tidewater does not retain, store or use any customer financial information.
