Why we created Tidewater Planetarium

Our goal for Tidewater Planetarium and this website is to offer an easily accessible and entertaining way for interested people to learn how careful observation of the night sky allowed humans to decode the structure and mechanics of the Solar System.

In a world where almost no one can see the night sky clearly and fewer still would take the time to make records of detailed observations, little of the amazing history of astronomical discovery is known to us or our children. We hope that Tidewater Planetarium will be an accessible adventure of discovery for the curious and inquisitive.
